Om Birla elected Speaker of 17th Lok Sabha

BJP's Om Birla was unanimously elected as the new Speaker of the 17th Lok Sabha on Wednesday. Birla is a second-time BJP MP from Kota-Bundi, Rajasthan and a three-time Rajasthan MLA. He is a well-known figure in saffron circles given his rise from the BJP youth wing. PM Modi congratulated the Speaker and said that it was a matter of great pride for the organisation.
